| Day 1 | Morning for organizing equipment. Lunch at the lodge before driving to Sirimon gate, 11,000 ft. Afternoon walk to acclimatize. Overnight at Ludmaier Camp. |
| Day 2 | After breakfast, ascend to the Liki North Valley, 13,000 ft, to camp overnight. |
| Day 3 | Climb out of the North Valley and into the Mackinder Valley, 14,000 ft. Camp at the valley head. |
| Day 4 | The ascent of Point Lenana, 16,355ft., will take approximately four hours of stiff walking to reach the summit. Then descend to the Teleki Valley to new Mackinders Camp. Overnight Teleki Valley. |
| Day 5 | Descend to the met. Station, roadhead, on the Naro Moru Track and then back to the lodge. |
| Day 6 | After breakfast, return to Nairobo. (For those who prefer a gentle walk, you can visit the lower moorlands on the Sirimon Route with views of the peaks. Spend one night at the Base Lodge and two nights on the Sirimon Route. For the very fit a special trip to Point Lenana can be arranged.) |
| On climbing expeditions, you are accompanied by experienced guide's and porters, who will carry all heavy gear. Food and other necessities are provided. Overnight accommodations are in simple, well-maintained mountain huts. Although the climb requires no prior climbing experience, special equipment or technical skills, it does call for a high degree of physical fitness and a strong commitment on the part of the climber. |
| CLIMBING and TREKKING Climbers should be fit and healthy. Guides and porters are provided to carry equipment and provisions . No special climbing equipment is required. Equipment is available for rent at the base hotel but for personal comfort climbers should bring their own sleeping bag and climbing boots. Additional essential equipment includes: warm clothing, waterproofs, rucksack, toilet paper, camera and film. Park fee and registration/rescue fees must be paid in cash (U.S. Dollars in Tanzania) by climbers at the gate. Climbing is possible year-round, but in rainy seasons (normally April, May and November), it is often too wet in the rain forest. Tips/Gratuities for porters and guides are not included. Climbers coming off the mountain before the end of the climb will have to pay the lodging and meals directly to base hotels. |
