Upon arrival in Egypt, you will be met by our representative and escorted through customs formalities. Then you will be chauffeured to your hotel and assisted with check-in. |
| Day 3 Cairo |
Drive to Memphis, and see the Alabaster Sphinx and Ramses II Statue. On to Sakkara to see the Step Pyramid built by Zoser. Afternoon, visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx. Observe the ancient art of making papyrus into paper at a papyrus gallery. Stop at local bazaar on the way to hotel. |
| Day 4 Cairo |
The Egyptian Museum provides you with an introduction to ancient Eygptian history. Visit Old Jewish, Coptic and Islamic Cairo, the oldest Synagogue of Ben Ezra, the Hanging Church and the Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali. Enjoy a walking tour of Khan El Khalili bazaars. |
| Day 5 Cairo/ Alexandria |
Drive to Alexandria, Egypt's second largest city. Visit the Greek - Roman Museum, the Catacombs and Bombay's Pillar. |
| Day 6 Alexandria, El Alamin, Marsa Matrouh |
Drive to Marsa Matrouh with a stop at El Alamin to see World War II Museum and cemetery. |
| Day 7 Alexandria, Siwa Oasis |
Arrive Siwa Oasis and visit Amon Temple, the Chapel of Alexander the Great, and Queen Cleopatra's natural swimming pool. |
| Day 8 Siwa Oasis |
Today is at your leisure to explore this most fascinating oasis on your own. |
| Day 9 Siwa Oasis, Cairo |
Drive back to Cairo with a stop at Wadi El Natron Monastry (if time permits). |
| Day 10 Cairo / USA |
Transfer to the airport for your flight home, or continue your visit in Egypt with one of the following extensions: 1) A 5 day/4 night Lake Nasser Cruise as per days 5 thru 9 of Legendary Egypt; or 2) A 5 day/4 night Nile cruise as per days 5 thru 9 of Classical Egypt. |
