Egypt's Christian Heritage
For departure dates and rates, please contact us.
Egypt is a veritable kaleidoscope of history...religion...culture.
Now, Tours & Travel Dimensions, Inc. provides you with the opportunity
to discover and experience the incredible beauty of Christian (Coptic)
Egypt as you have never experienced it before.
It was to Egypt that St. Mark, the first Evanglist, came and settled
in Alexandria in the latter half of the first century AD. Since then, the
teachings of Christianity spread deep into Egypt, leaving everlasting
imprints in the form of churches and monasteries filled with paintings of
the saints and testifying to the grandeur, beauty and mastery of Egyptian
Coptic Art.
Our distinctive custom-made itinerary features ancient and holy sites:
Church of Abu Sargah, built atop the cave where the Holy Family rested;
Great Monasteries of Wadi al-Natroun; the Monastery of St. Catherine;
Zeitoun's Virgin Church, where thousands have sought blessing after the
apparition of the Virgin Mary above one of its domes; the Virgin Tree,
where the Holy Family stayed during their flight into Egypt; St. Markus
Cathedral, largest in Africa; and the Coptic Museum, world-class cultural
institution preserving the Coptic heritage.
